Crypto trading can result in substantial losses, including the loss of all funds committed to a trade. Automation does not remove market or execution risk.
Market volatility and loss of capital
Crypto prices can move sharply, liquidity can disappear and assets can lose most or all of their value. Spreads, gaps and fast price moves can produce losses larger than expected. Only commit funds you can afford to lose.
Holding spot assets avoids some leverage-related mechanisms but does not make a strategy risk-free. A spot asset can decline substantially or become difficult to sell.
Leverage, margin and liquidation
Futures and other leveraged products amplify both gains and losses. Small adverse movements can cause liquidation, and exchange-specific rules determine margin requirements, liquidation prices and possible liabilities.
Isolated margin, a leverage limit or a displayed liquidation estimate does not guarantee protection. Funding charges, fees, volatility and exchange calculations can change the outcome. Review the exchange's rules before opening a position.
Automated strategies require supervision
Bots follow software rules and the settings you provide. They cannot reliably predict every market change and may behave differently in unusual conditions. Incorrect pairs, direction, sizing, leverage or credentials can create unintended exposure.
Stopping a bot or losing platform access does not necessarily cancel existing exchange orders or close positions. Maintain direct access to your exchange so you can inspect and manage positions independently.
Execution, stop-loss and profit-lock limitations
Orders may be delayed, rejected, duplicated by an external system, partially filled or executed with slippage. Exchange rate limits, outages, API changes, stale prices and network interruptions can affect execution and reported values.
Stop-loss, take-profit, trailing and profit-lock controls depend on market conditions and successful execution. They cannot guarantee that a particular price, profit or maximum loss will be achieved.
Exchange and API security risks
Trading funds remain subject to the exchange's custody, security, availability and withdrawal rules. Exchange insolvency, account restrictions or security incidents can prevent access to funds independently of the platform.
API credentials can allow trading actions within their permissions. Keep withdrawal permissions disabled, restrict keys where supported and revoke compromised keys directly with your exchange. Keeping withdrawal permissions disabled does not prevent losses from unauthorized or unsuccessful trades.
Simulations, illustrations and historical results
Paper trading, calculators, charts, examples and backtests are illustrative. They may not reproduce real liquidity, fees, funding, latency, slippage or exchange behavior. A simulated or historical profit is not evidence that the same result will occur live.
Displayed balances, floating profit and liquidation estimates may change and may temporarily differ from exchange records. Use exchange confirmations and account records when checking execution and exposure.
Fees, payments and external conditions
Subscription fees, exchange trading fees, funding charges and network costs can reduce returns or increase losses. Paying for a plan does not insure funds or guarantee trading performance. Paid subscription fees are subject to the no-refund policy in the Terms of Service, without limiting rights that cannot be excluded by law.
Legal, tax and exchange eligibility requirements vary by location and may change. You are responsible for understanding the requirements applicable to your activities. Seek independent professional advice where needed.
